The New Mexico Chapter encompasses the state and has a growing membership. A local board of directors has responsibility for the Association's activities.

Mission

The New Mexico Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is an organization of development professionals with a common goal of advancing philanthropy in New Mexico through promotion and advocacy of ethical principles and standards, mentorship, recognition and fellowship.

Association

Over 20,000 members/affiliates in 149 chapters in the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as members in other countries including Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom and Venezuela.

National Membership Benefits
  • Advancing Philanthropy: A subscription to AFP's national quarterly magazine, Advancing Philanthropy.
  • Credentials: Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and Advanced CFRE credentialing are available through AFP.

Qualifications

Open to all fund raising professionals for organizations or institutions, as well as members of counseling firms that are currently engaged in consulting, fund raising management or as self-employed professionals; who, among other responsibilities, hold some degree of accountability for income-generation within the philanthropic process; who estimate at least a quarter of their time is spent on fund raising related responsibilities; and who are compensated for their services.

To Join

First you must join the national organization. Membership is for individuals, not organizations; and is nontransferable. Membership follows you at the time of any job change or transfer.

Choose a membership category from the following:

    • Active Member
    • Affiliate
    • Retired
    • Intern/Student

Active and Affiliate members pay $220 per year national dues and $50 per year for the New Mexico Chapter dues. Retired and Intern/Student rates are $25.
