PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: The New Mexico Chapter Needs You!
Happy Spring!  I hope you take some time to stop and smell the flowers.  I want to thank you for your membership and support of the AFP-New Mexico Chapter.  The 2008 Board of Directors and I are working hard to provide you an array of educational, networking and certification opportunities.  We are working to improve organizational processes and provide our services to more diverse populations statewide.  We welcome your participation and feedback throughout the year.  I also want to thank those that called me to rave about the Funder's luncheon in February, your feedback is invaluable.

If you would you like to get more involved in the New Mexico Chapter and help to advance Philanthropy in New Mexico, then consider volunteering on an AFP committee.  These committees will help you build relationships with other fundraisers in the community and polish your fundraising skills in various areas.  The committees currently in action are Communications, Education, Ethics Education, Government Affairs, Hospitality, National Philanthropy Day, and Professional Development and Scholarship.  If you would like to participate please call Melody at 505- 239-9106.

I look forward to seeing you all in Santa Fe in April,
Felicia Griffin, AFP-NM President

Thursday, April 10, 200811:00am-1:00pm at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, 710 Camino Lejo- Museum Hill, Santa Fe. The program will be in Meem Auditorium whose entrance is to the right of the Museum Entrance.

MAY AUDIO CONFERENCE-May 20, 2008: ADVANCED ANNUAL GIVING TECHNIQUES
Annual giving is both art and science. This session will discuss techniques to create annual leadership donors including utilizing prospect screening tools and applying them to a broader base constituency. Participants will learn how to maximize renewals to limit the "loss" of donors each year as well as advanced techniques to most cost-effectively acquire new donors. Finally, we will discuss the Case for Support and elements needed for the best response. Target audience is: Mid level 3-6 years of experience. Ms. Pavelka has presented at international, national and regional conferences for CASE, AHP and AFP. She has been recognized as a CASE "Stellar" speaker. For more information and to register

Your wisdom and assistance is needed and appreciated. Please contact Arlene Gabaldon at 505-243-8844 ext. 232, she would be glad to have your participation.
